Our Spanish Exchange Program Welcomes Dr. Elena Lopez!

The Hand Center of San Antonio welcomes Dr. Elena Lopez! Currently an orthopaedic surgery resident at the Hospital Universitario de Burgos in Spain, she is an active member of the Spanish Orthopaedic Association, where she has presented her research through poster and oral presentations.

She is motivated to learn as much as she can and has chosen to spend some of her elective time here in order to broaden her perspective of upper extremity care.  While at the Hand Center of San Antonio, she will have the opportunity to shadow our physicians in both the clinic and OR settings (with patient permission), participate in a regular lecture schedule and learn surgical procedures in special labs.

When not working in the hospital, she volunteers as Camp Medical Staff, where she helps to care for basic medical needs and trains other medical staff. Welcome, Dr. Lopez...we are happy to have you here!
