Safety tips for the holidays!

The Hand Center of San Antonio would like to wish you and your family a Happy and Safe Holiday season!

Remember these safety tips:

  • If or when hanging Christmas lights, always have someone "spotting" you by holding the ladder; falls from the ladder are a common cause of wrist and other upper extremity fractures, not to mention other bodily injuries.

  • Avoid using ladders outside when the weather is wet, windy or otherwise less than ideal; these are conditions that can lead to slips and falls that may result in injury.

  • If or when you start using fireworks, please exercise caution; these injuries can be devastating and are often irreversible.

  • Using tools correctly is crucial to preventing accidental cuts, scrapes, and other injuries to your hands when assembling furniture, toys, or other gifts. Wear appropriate protective gear if necessary and always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Take extra care when using knives during holiday meal preparation to avoid cuts or punctures. Prevent slips by keeping knives sharp and cutting away from your body.

We are here to help, so if you have any questions please give us a call at 210-558-7025.  And for your convenience, we will be open the morning of Christmas Eve.

Happy Holidays from The Hand Center!
